The low pressure hydrogen canisters are recognized by the US DOE as the safest hydrogen storage method. At less than 1 MPa (140 psig), these metal hydride canisters will not burn or cause explosions if the canister is broken. These hydrogen canisters also meet the requirement of ISO and US DOT standards.
These hydrogen canisters can be refueled in 1-2 minutes and are not limited in attitude or orientation. They are also able to provide the highest discharge rate for its class and provide thermal protection as well as an over pressure relief valve.
